The name "Eventpartner Wuppertal" stands for an initiative of nine event service companies and venues based in the local Bergischland region of Germany - Culinaria Catering, Fahnen Herold, Golf Hotel Vesper, Guest One, Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal, LoBDesign, music4friends, TONact and Thöne & Partner.
These companies had arranged their individual stands at the Best of Events trade fair at a crossroads of the walkways in order to jointly carry out a range of promotional activities at the fair.
The Business Breakfast is a business-to-business event. The presence of anything between 150 to 350 participants has made this meeting a regular major feature in the marketing activities of the town of Wuppertal as a venue for events.
On 22 January 2015, this year's Business Breakfast took place under the title "Mehrwert durch Kooperation" (Added value through cooperation). It was the first time the 08:30 am breakfast was held outside Wuppertal. Around 90 companies accepted the invitation and visited BEST OF EVENTS INTERNATIONAL (BoE), the annual events-sector trade fair with 400 exhibitors.
The benefits of this cooperation were explained by Julia Hamm (Vesper), Sascha Poddey (music4friends) and Sebastian Wacker (TONact), with Aljoscha Höhn as professional moderator. They were of the opinion that the initiative could act as a role model, particularly for companies in a similar form of cooperation from other sectors. They believed the added value lay not only in sharing the typical trade fair tasks of stand construction and customer hospitality, but in developing synergies and boosting the collective competitive edge. However, the most important prerequisite is, as ever, mutual trust.
In his speech, guest speaker Vok Dams called the cooperation exemplary "from the point of view of both Wuppertal businesses and representatives of the events sector". He went on to call it a brilliant initiative that "demonstrates the direct business communication strengths of this sector in Wuppertal." It is right not to divide the pie up into too many small pieces, but for all involved to present themselves in their totality. This makes the potential of Wuppertal as a "centre for events" visible locally and further afield – an important consideration also for event agencies.
Promptly for the opening of the trade fair at 10 a.m., the "visiting" Wuppertal breakfasters had the opportunity to go on a tour of the interesting BoE, with some of them probably wishing they could stay all day.
