    documenta 14 - The most important exhibition of contemporary art is in Kassel!

    From 10 June to 17 September 2017, the documenta is taking place in Kassel for the 14th time. Globally it is considered the most important exhibition of contemporary art and attracts about one million visitors every five years. Of course, this creates a correspondingly great interest from the media. Therefore, traditionally the documenta is opened with an international press conference for which over 3,000 journalists registered for 7 June – a new attendance record which involved a number of logistic and organisational challenges. With a large contingent of personnel and technology, the team at the Kongress Palais ensured the success of the mega press conference.

  • Sustainable days in Kassel: Congress Palace awarded green globe certification

    In 2009, HCCE member Kongress Palais Kassel was honoured as the first German meeting and event centre with the Seal of Sustainability Green Globe. To achieve this the Kongress Palais took a pioneering role and continued the implementation of a forward-looking and sustainable approach that contributes to the conservation of resources.

    On May 20, the Congress Palais was awarded again the internationally recognized certificate.

  • HCCE Member hosts top German Green Award!

    President of Germany Joachim Gauck will awards the German Environment Prize 2014 in the Kongress Palais KasselOn 26th October, President of Germany Joachim Gauck awarded the German Environment Prize 2014 at an event hosted at HCCE member Kongress Palais Kassel.

    With this prize, the German Foundation for the Environment (DBU) rewards excellent performance in the area of sustainability and resource conservation. The German Environment Prize is endowed with €500,000  and is thus the most important award of its kind in Europe.

  • Connichi in the Kongress Palais Kassel: multi-annual agreement signed until 2015

    Colourful costumes and bizarre heroes: last September, Germany's largest and most popular manga and anime convention, Connichi, took place in the Kongress Palais Kassel for the tenth time – and established a new attendance record with around 21,000 visitors.

     With a record of 21,000 total visitors, Connichi was once again a complete success in 2012.  Currently the largest anime and manga convention in the German-speaking world organised exclusively by fans for fans, Connichi was held for the 11th time in 2012 and has taken place at the Congress Palace (Kongress Palais), Kassel, every year in September since 2003.
