With amazing venues everywhere taking on a festive sparkle and filling their event schedule ahead of the holidays, findings from research conducted by Hire Space has revealed the top trends for the Christmas season 2017.
Popular venues range from sleek, modern spaces to historic rooms housed in unique event venues, with requests for reception rooms to vast dining halls. The most popular date for this year’s parties seems to be Thursday 14th December, with Thursday 7th December, Friday 8th December, Wednesday 13th December and Friday 15th December also proving popular.
This year, formal, sit-down dinners are losing popularity, with the preference of most who made bookings being for more informal dining options including street food and buffets. The popularity of these has increased by 14.38% since last year.
It is often a common complaint to say that Christmas starts earlier each year, but the research shows that August is the best time to book a Christmas event, with most enquiries made by early September and then finalised by the end of that month.
The amount spent on Christmas parties varies according to the sector with the property sector throwing the biggest parties and the media industry paying the highest cost per head. There is certainly no lack of celebration taking place. In the UK, spending on Christmas parties has seen an increase of 104% and a 39.5% increase in the numbers of enquiries since 2016.
There are many forms of Christmas parties, but for the events industry the month ahead promises to be a lively one.
